Superior Wellness came to us with a clear challenge: create a standout brand and launch a high-performance Shopify store – and all within a tight deadline.
Our role was to work side-by-side with their marketing team, developing a direct-to-consumer wellness brand and bringing their very first Shopify ecommerce store to life, collaborating closely with their in-house devs throughout.
Developing the on and off-line design language
The aim? A fresh, engaging brand identity and design system to drive the Shopify build. We kicked off with an in-depth stakeholder workshop to understand the market, consumer needs, and business ambitions. By partnering closely with their marketing and customer service teams, we built a powerful brand strategy, clearly positioning the new brand for success.
After exploring several ideas, we landed on “The Wellness Co” – a name and identity that captured the essence of the brand. From there, we developed the brand story, tone of voice, and value proposition. To make it all come to life, we created a flexible design language and component library, speeding up the Shopify build.
Laying down a design language using the Atomic Design methodology
Working against the clock, we delivered the Shopify store in just 12 weeks, focusing on the key features that mattered most for launch. Parallel workstreams handled the more complex features like bundling and upselling, ensuring nothing slowed down the momentum.
Regular check-ins with the Superior Wellness team kept everything running smoothly and on budget, ensuring everyone was on the same page and aligned for success.
One key goal was boosting sales of bundled products. We collaborated closely to design a custom user experience for product bundling, which blew past expectations at launch. Additionally, we streamlined the process for reordering essential consumables, making it easier for customers to stay loyal to the brand.
To ensure the highest SEO standards, we teamed up with Connective3, their advertising agency, aligning every detail of the build with their marketing strategy. We prepared redirects from the old site, and their ads targeted the new store seamlessly. The launch? Smooth as could be, right on schedule, and without a hitch.
